Member Retention & Recruitment Officer

Established in 1934, the Motor Trade Association of Western Australia (MTA WA) has spent decades as a passionate advocate for the motor industry and assisting members in running and growing their business. The Association is member based and is the peak industry group for the Western Australian motor industry representing over 1,500 businesses.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, engaging and passionate Member Retention & Recruitment Officer to join our professional team. This position promotes and drives both new membership opportunities and retains our strong existing member base through a thorough knowledge of current industry issues underpinned by savvy and professional business acumen.

This pivotal position promotes membership benefits to motor trade retailers, repairers and associated businesses to encourage companies to join MTA WA. This position also involves travel, regularly visiting members and prospects in both metropolitan and regional locations whilst providing excellent service as a key point of contact to our members and clients.

Some duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Promote and develop initiatives to attract and retain members of the Association through proactively advancing Member knowledge of our products and benefits.
  • Maintain and drive our client and customer list in order to promote the Association in the Industry.
  • Ensure that all new members meet the criteria for membership including licences, workshop set-up and OHS as outlined in our membership criteria.
  • Liaise with the Division Managers and other relevant Departments on areas that potential and current members have highlighted as key topics for discussions and or review.

This role will suit an experienced, industry professional who has a passion for the motor industry, is highly organised, able to adhere to set deadlines and work in a team environment with a mature approach. To be successful in this position you will need to possess the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role preferably in the motor trade industry.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build solid relationships with business owners and key stakeholders.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work closely within a tight knit team.
  • Strong level of attention to detail, ability to prioritise tasks and work autonomously.
  • A mechanical qualification would be highly regarded.
  • Sound computer skills particularly MS Word & Excel.

Salary, including a Company vehicle with limited private use, is negotiable depending upon the skills and experience.
