For all WA automotive body repair employers, there is a legal responsibility to have a Health Surveillance program in place to minimise the risk of permanent health damage to their spray painters. Due to the significant health issues associated with isocyanate exposure when spraying, WorkSafe requires employers to register results of biological monitoring to ensure the wellbeing of employees.

Each isocyanate health assessment involves a

  • health and exposure questionnaire
  • skin and eye check, and
  • a lung function test

It can usually be done in 20-30 minutes, and is required every 6-12 months pending health assessment outcomes.

Early recognition of employee sensitisation to isocyanates is essential to reduce the risk of long-term respiratory problems such as occupational asthma and occupational dermatitis.

CHP provide onsite spray painter health assessments in Perth and around WA. We conduct these onsite at your workplace, minimising productivity disruption and allowing you to get all painters tested with one booking.

WorkCover hearing testing can also be done at the same time. All MTA WA members get Mates Rates!
