Paying homage to the Kawasaki Z1, the Z900RS Café is a svelte interpretation of a Café Racer that marks Kawasaki’s first product in the modern retro category. With an emphasis on smoothness, this may prove to be an instant classic.

We reached out to MTA WA Members Fifth Element Kawasaki to find out more about this street-cool performer!

Paul and Sonya Mansfield, from the Mandurah-based Kawasaki dealership said that “The Z900RS Café has been a much anticipated model launch. Now that it has finally arrived, it definitely hasn’t disappointed. It’s impeccably finished with many original Z900 features and has been blended to perfection with the latest technology. Kawasaki has remastered the original sin. Our customers have been in awe, visiting the dealership numerous times for that second look... it would be fair to say this model has been attracting a lot of attention!”

Initial feedback for the green (or pearl-storm grey) blooded beauty has included the following:

“An internet sensation that can only be appreciated in the flesh”

Dean, 32

“Pure original class, with a rush of the past”

Stuart, 53

The Fifth Element Kawasaki experts have also said that most people are surprised to learn about the attention to detail within the design of the bike. The Z900RS Café's exhaust has been specifically designed using ‘sound research’ to create the ideal exhaust note. 20 different exhaust variations were considered before the final choice was settled on. This is the first time Kawasaki have specifically focused on delivering the perfect sound, as this model is known for having a deep ‘rumbling’ note from its inline four engines.

It also features a lightweight trellis frame, complementing the overall rider experience for optimum handling. The bike responds beautifully with light, natural movement. This was one of the first noticeable differences, from taking it out of the crate, along with its timeless styling.

Other key features include: Traction control (with 2 selectable modes), an LED headlamps turn signals and tail light, combination analogue and LCD instrument cluster, inverted front forks and ABS – this bike is loaded with style, safety and performance kit.
